Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, commissioning, routine servicing, and troubleshooting of monitoring and safety products such as oil mist detectors and engine safety systems.
  • Conduct diagnostic checks, identify faults, and carry out necessary repairs or component replacements.
  • Ensure all work is carried out according to manufacturer specifications, safety standards, and client requirements.
  • Provide onsite and remote technical support to shipowners, shipyards, OEMs, and service partners.
  • Analyse system issues and propose effective engineering solutions.
  • Prepare accurate service reports, including findings, corrective actions, and recommendations.
  • Liaise with customers to schedule service jobs and ensure timely execution of projects.
  • Communicate technical issues clearly and maintain strong customer relationships through professional service delivery.
  • Support spare parts identification and recommend system upgrades when necessary.
  • Maintain detailed records of service activities, equipment performance, and parts used.
  • Ensure compliance with internal QA procedures and industry safety standards.
  • Assist in preparing technical documentation, service manuals, and training materials when required.
  • Travel within Singapore and overseas (Asia region) for vessel attendance, shipyard projects, and technical support visits.
  • Collaborate with global technical teams for product updates, system improvements, and technical training.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Previous experience in marine engineering, engine automation, or shipboard systems is an advantage.
  • Strong hands-on troubleshooting skills with electrical/electronic components.
  • Willingness to work onboard vessels, in shipyards, and travel when required.
  • Good communication skills, customer-oriented mindset, and ability to work independently.
  • Familiarity with marine safety systems or oil mist detection systems is preferred but not essential (training provided).
