Job Description
Responsibilities
- Perform installation, commissioning, routine servicing, and troubleshooting of monitoring and safety products such as oil mist detectors and engine safety systems.
- Conduct diagnostic checks, identify faults, and carry out necessary repairs or component replacements.
- Ensure all work is carried out according to manufacturer specifications, safety standards, and client requirements.
- Provide onsite and remote technical support to shipowners, shipyards, OEMs, and service partners.
- Analyse system issues and propose effective engineering solutions.
- Prepare accurate service reports, including findings, corrective actions, and recommendations.
- Liaise with customers to schedule service jobs and ensure timely execution of projects.
- Communicate technical issues clearly and maintain strong customer relationships through professional service delivery.
- Support spare parts identification and recommend system upgrades when necessary.
- Maintain detailed records of service activities, equipment performance, and parts used.
- Ensure compliance with internal QA procedures and industry safety standards.
- Assist in preparing technical documentation, service manuals, and training materials when required.
- Travel within Singapore and overseas (Asia region) for vessel attendance, shipyard projects, and technical support visits.
- Collaborate with global technical teams for product updates, system improvements, and technical training.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Previous experience in marine engineering, engine automation, or shipboard systems is an advantage.
- Strong hands-on troubleshooting skills with electrical/electronic components.
- Willingness to work onboard vessels, in shipyards, and travel when required.
- Good communication skills, customer-oriented mindset, and ability to work independently.
- Familiarity with marine safety systems or oil mist detection systems is preferred but not essential (training provided).
