Job Description
Responsibilities
Technical Management / Operations
Ensure vessels are maintained and operated according to company and industry standards.
Oversee daily technical operations and supervise maintenance in line with manufacturer guidelines.
Prepare specs and review tenders for technical services and repairs.
Report vessel performance, budget status, and incidents to Line Manager.
Coordinate with Procurement for timely, cost-effective spare part supply.
Implement HSEQ policies onboard and lead dry-docking, refits, and repair planning.
Regulatory Compliance
Ensure full compliance with IMO, Flag State, and Port State requirements.
Maintain up-to-date vessel certificates and surveys.
Financial Management
Monitor vessel budgets to ensure cost control within approved limits (≤3% variance).
Assist in planning annual budgets and managing dry-docking costs.
Quality & Improvement
Identify and drive process improvements to enhance technical efficiency.
Collaborate with Quality team on implementation of approved initiatives.
Support SOP updates and ensure crew compliance with QMS.
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
Promote onboard safety culture and respond to technical emergencies.
Ensure vessels meet safety standards and take corrective action for hazards.
Deliver HSE messaging and training during ship visits.
People & Leadership
Set clear goals, coach and develop vessel teams.
Track development plans and conduct regular performance reviews.
Support talent development and manage underperformance.

Requirements
• Degree or Diploma in Marine Engineering, Nautical Studies, or related field
• Valid STCW COC: MEO Class 1 / COC II/2 / COC III/2
• Min. 3 years sailing (incl. 1 year as Chief Engineer or Master)
• Min. 3 years in shore-based superintendent or technical role
• Knowledge of Class rules and ship compliance procedures
• Experience in dry-dockings, repairs, and crew management
• Strong commercial sense and IT proficiency
• Business Admin qualification is a plus
