Job Description
Key Responsibilities

Fleet Management
-
Assume full technical responsibility for assigned chemical tankers, ensuring seaworthiness and operational readiness.

Monitor vessel performance, fuel efficiency, and machinery condition through regular analysis and inspections.

Planned Maintenance & Dry Docking
-
Oversee planned maintenance schedules and ensure timely execution of repairs and overhauls.
-
Lead dry-docking projects, preparing detailed repair specifications, negotiating with yards, and managing budgets.

Regulatory Compliance
-
Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations (SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM, ISPS, STCW, Flag State, Class rules).

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of chemical tanker cargo operations, cargo containment systems, and safety protocols.

Liaise with vetting inspectors, Port State Control, and oil majors to achieve positive inspection results.

Budget & Cost Control

Prepare and manage vessel budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness without compromising safety or quality.

Approve requisitions, monitor OPEX and CAPEX, and evaluate vendor/contractor performance.

Crew & Stakeholder Management

Support Masters and Chief Engineers with technical guidance and problem-solving.

Conduct onboard visits to assess crew performance and provide mentoring.

Act as the main point of contact for owners, charterers, and internal stakeholders on technical matters.

Requirements
-
Class 1 Certificate of Competency (Motor) with Chief Engineer sea-going experience on chemical tankers.
-
Minimum 5Â years shore-based experience as a Technical Superintendent, ideally with senior superintendent or fleet manager exposure.
