Job Description
Responsibilities
- Responsible for a full spectrum of shipping operations and documentation.
- Handle shipment and able to coordinate with suppliers, buyers, ship-brokers, ship owners and agents, surveyors, insurance companies, inter offices etc, to ensure smooth loading and discharging operations.
- Handle full set of shipping documents including liaison with banks on letters of credit, negotiations and collection of documentation.
- Accounting – posting of receivable and payable and control of procurement account.
- Able to handle full operations support to trader once business is concluded.
- Supervise and delegate work to junior staff.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree holder
- Minimum 7-8 years working experience, preferably from Agri or commodities DRY bulk company
- Knowledge of UCP 600, Gafta, Incoterms, Gencon charter party, accounting, laytime calculations and CMA
- Fluent in English & Mandarin (to communicate with counterpart in China)
- Understands the nature of work required in the commodities space
- Remaining composed and maintaining focus while working with clients, colleagues, and immediate supervisors in high-pressure situations.
