Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Establish and oversee a compliance system to ensure adherence to all relevant regulations, including those from oil majors, regulatory bodies, and clients.
  • Monitor team performance to ensure compliance with all applicable requirements.
  • Develop and implement crew recruitment strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Plan and execute recruitment efforts within the region, identifying new and effective sources of manpower.
  • Develop and promote strategies to enhance crew selection and processing.
  • Review manpower forecasts and collaborate with senior management, Crewing Operations, and other stakeholders to determine future employment needs.
  • Oversee the performance of manning agents.
  • Support the Marketing Department in promoting the company’s brand within regional crewing markets.
  • Identify and utilize public crewing portals for seafarer selection.
  • Assist the General Manager, Crewing (Ops) in the annual review of seafarer wage matrices.
  • Manage the recruitment team budgets for operations, marketing, and recruitment drives.
  • Evaluate business challenges and implement quality control measures for seafarers.
  • Formulate strategies to improve the candidate selection process.
  • Contribute to the development of Crewing Strategies based on key industry trends and best practices.
  • Identify and proactively address emerging risks.
  • Analyze first-trip attrition rates and improve quality control and alignment of seafarers with specific vessel needs.
  • Assess the manpower situation and develop plans based on the Porter’s 5 Forces model.
  • Participate in succession planning and team development.
  • Motivate, mentor, and engage team members to drive performance and commitment to business objectives.
  • Identify and address performance gaps within the team.
  • Be responsible for the overall delivery of Recruitment Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Provide direction, goals, and targets to ensure the achievement of organizational vision, mission, and objectives.
  • Oversee global recruitment, cadet/trainee ratings, interviews, and career progression planning for junior officers and engineers.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Maritime/Logistics or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of management experience with intermediate shipboard experience.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
