Job Description
Role:
- Lead, supervise, and assess team members, including task allocation, workload monitoring, and quality evaluation.
- Identify and recruit new seafarers, coordinating interviews for senior officers with relevant department heads.
- Reach out to former seafarers for potential redeployment.
- Verify seafarers’ certificates and arrange medical examinations in compliance with Charterer’s requirements.
- Authenticate seafarers’ certifications with relevant authorities and facilitate Flag State license applications.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date personnel records, tracking certificate and document expirations.
- Update crew planning, rotation schedules, and crew lists.
- Ensure efficient, timely, and cost-effective crew changes.
- Conduct, sign, and file crew performance appraisals.
- Coordinate with crew agents and port agents for crew embarkation and repatriation, including flight and visa arrangements.
- Manage crew entry and ship landing passes with Singapore Immigration authorities.
- Handle immigration clearances and outward port clearances.
- Update crew articles, including sign-on/sign-off, via the MPA Portal.
- Process visa applications as needed.
- Maintain and update crew personal records and certifications in the crew management system.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Head of Crewing/Agency.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in crew management, preferably in the offshore or marine industry.
- At least a GCE ‘O’ level qualification or marine-related trade certification.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, MS Excel).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a mature and professional demeanor.
- Detail-oriented, independent, and capable of leading a team.
- Quick learner with the ability to adapt and manage responsibilities effectively.
- Willing to work overtime and conduct ship visits when necessary.
