Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Make on-site visits to vessels and customer facilities to develop trust, strengthen rapport, and gather in-depth knowledge of client challenges.
  • Cultivate and sustain strong, long-term partnerships with both existing and prospective accounts through regular in-person interactions.
  • Draft and deliver accurate sales quotes, actively track open proposals, and successfully close transactions to generate revenue.
  • Manage day-to-day customer communications, responding swiftly to phone and email enquiries to offer timely support.
  • Design and follow structured sales plans to consistently achieve or surpass assigned revenue targets.
  • Work closely with internal operations, logistics, and technical departments to ensure efficient order fulfilment and high customer satisfaction.
  • Track marine and industrial sector developments to uncover fresh business leads and grow the client base.
  • Offer technical guidance and product knowledge to customers, identify and resolve their operational issues, and suggest appropriate equipment or spare parts.

Candidate Profile

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in technical outside sales, field engineering, or industrial account management, preferably within shipping, marine supply, or industrial sectors.
  • Willing and physically able to board vessels (at anchorage or in port) and travel regularly to shipyards or industrial work sites.
  • Strong business sense, effective negotiation abilities, and a proactive approach to addressing customer technical needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple, benefit-focused language for ship superintendents, procurement officers, and technical managers.
  • A valid Class 3 driving license is an advantage.
