Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the maritime industry.
- Develop and execute strategies to enter emerging markets and secure critical contracts.
- Conduct comprehensive market research and competitor analysis to pinpoint industry trends and opportunities.
- Build and maintain partnerships with ship agencies, chandlers, and other key stakeholders in the maritime sector.
- Formulate and implement plans to expand the company’s presence in high-value OPL operations and untapped markets.
- Manage the sales pipeline effectively to achieve monthly targets.
- Perform thorough market evaluations to uncover growth opportunities.
- Utilize a broad professional network to secure long-term partnerships and high-value contracts with key clients.
- Foster strong relationships with current and potential clients, stakeholders, and partners.
- Serve as the main contact for key accounts, ensuring exceptional client satisfaction.
- Negotiate and finalize contracts to meet or exceed sales objectives.
- Work closely with senior management to align business development initiatives with the company’s strategic goals.
- Provide data-driven insights on sales performance, pipeline status, and deal progression for informed decision-making.
- Recommend enhancements to product offerings and service delivery based on market demands.
- Oversee the preparation of sales forecasts, budgets, and performance reports.
- Stay updated on maritime industry regulations, advancements in technology, and global market trends.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to promote its brand and network with potential partners.
- Track industry developments to maintain a competitive edge.
- Collaborate with marketing, operations, and technical teams to provide comprehensive solutions to clients.
- Mentor and support junior team members in adopting effective business development practices.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Maritime Studies, Engineering, or a related field.
- MBA or equivalent advanced qualification is advantageous.
- 4-5 years of proven success in business development or sales within the maritime, shipping, or harbor craft sectors.
- A strong track record of securing and managing high-value accounts.
- Experience in ship agency operations, ancillary services, launch services, or harbor craft operations is preferred.
- Proficiency in managing large accounts and coordinating across cross-functional teams.
- Expertise in pipeline management and closing high-value deals.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Deep knowledge of the maritime industry, including shipping, logistics, and offshore services.
- Analytical skills for identifying trends and making data-informed decisions.
- Proficiency in CRM platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strategic and analytical thinker.
