Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the maritime industry.
  • Develop and execute strategies to enter emerging markets and secure critical contracts.
  • Conduct comprehensive market research and competitor analysis to pinpoint industry trends and opportunities.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with ship agencies, chandlers, and other key stakeholders in the maritime sector.
  • Formulate and implement plans to expand the company’s presence in high-value OPL operations and untapped markets.
  • Manage the sales pipeline effectively to achieve monthly targets.
  • Perform thorough market evaluations to uncover growth opportunities.
  • Utilize a broad professional network to secure long-term partnerships and high-value contracts with key clients.
  • Foster strong relationships with current and potential clients, stakeholders, and partners.
  • Serve as the main contact for key accounts, ensuring exceptional client satisfaction.
  • Negotiate and finalize contracts to meet or exceed sales objectives.
  • Work closely with senior management to align business development initiatives with the company’s strategic goals.
  • Provide data-driven insights on sales performance, pipeline status, and deal progression for informed decision-making.
  • Recommend enhancements to product offerings and service delivery based on market demands.

  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to promote its brand and network with potential partners.

  • Collaborate with marketing, operations, and technical teams to provide comprehensive solutions to clients.
  • Mentor and support junior team members in adopting effective business development practices.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Maritime Studies, Engineering, or a related field.
  • MBA or equivalent advanced qualification is advantageous.
  • 4-5 years of proven success in business development or sales within the maritime, shipping, or harbor craft sectors.
  • A strong track record of securing and managing high-value accounts.
  • Experience in ship agency operations, ancillary services, launch services, or harbor craft operations is preferred.
  • Proficiency in managing large accounts and coordinating across cross-functional teams.
  • Expertise in pipeline management and closing high-value deals.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Deep knowledge of the maritime industry, including shipping, logistics, and offshore services.
  • Analytical skills for identifying trends and making data-informed decisions.
  • Proficiency in CRM platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strategic and analytical thinker.
