Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Source, assess, and select suppliers for materials, equipment, products, and services, while managing overall vendor relationships.
  • Handle and process purchase requisitions and orders efficiently.
  • Request and evaluate quotations for stores, spares, and service requirements based on RFQs from vessels and operations teams.
  • Ensure that all procurement activities follow organizational policies and procedures.
  • Develop framework agreements with suppliers and ensure procurement of relevant goods and services under these agreements whenever possible. Negotiate with suppliers to achieve optimal value and service.
  • Conduct regular vendor performance reviews and price benchmarking.
  • Coordinate servicing and other support services to meet Class requirements, including annual inspections and related activities.
  • Perform cost-benefit analyses before making procurement recommendations.
  • Verify that invoices are accurately matched with purchase orders and delivery documents, and ensure correct account coding.
  • Ensure timely approval of invoices by relevant personnel and submit them promptly to accounts.
  • Communicate with clients for approvals and track the progress of requisitions.
  • Organize logistics to ensure timely delivery of spares and stores to vessels, with consistent follow-up.
  • Provide input and recommendations to improve task execution and operational procedures.
  • Perform ad-hoc duties and other responsibilities as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in vessel procurement, preferably for offshore vessels such as AHTS, PSV, or Subsea assets; experience with conventional fleet vessels may also be considered.
  • Previous work in the maritime, shipping, or offshore sector, either with ship management companies or vessel owners, in a procurement role.
  • Strong understanding of the dynamic procurement needs of vessels and their operational requirements.
  • Experience managing logistics, supply chain, and delivery of spares and stores.
  • Knowledge and practical experience with marine purchasing systems.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to deliver timely and clear updates.
