Job Description

Main Duties

  • System Design & Assessment:Analyze and create fire protection schematics, P&IDs, and hydraulic calculations, confirmingadherenceto standards (NFPA, SOLAS, local regulations).
  • Project Planning & Execution: Oversee project resources, budgets, schedules, and acquisition of firefighting gear.
  • Site Management: Communicate with clients, contractors, and consultants. Conduct site evaluations, audits, and installation assessments.
  • Testing & Commissioning: Supervise FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) and SAT (Site Acceptance Test) to verifyperformance.
  • Documentation: Create technical reports, submissions, and conclusive project documentation

 

Necessary Skills and Credentials

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Safety Engineering, or a similar discipline.
  • Experience: 3-5 years in the design, management, or installationoffire protection systems.
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of firefighting systems (foam, deluge, water mist, gas systems) and alarm systems.
  • Technical Skills: Expertise in AutoCAD, MS Office Suite, and project management applications (such as MS Project).
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, along with the capacity to work autonomously. Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Familiarity with marine regulations (DNV, ABS, RINA) or regional Civil Defence standards.
  • Capability to perform hydrant flow assessments and hydraulic evaluations
