Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- The Principal Instrumentation Engineer leads and controls ICSS and Control engineering activities mainly for Topside facilities in FPSO/FLNG or Offshore facilities
- Develops corporate technical standards/procedures, work-flow, engineering platform (e.g. ICSS and Control design data integration) and keep them updated, integral, practical and fit to purpose with incorporating Project Lesson Learned
- Assists the Head of Discipline for managing a corporate organization and mentors ICSS and Control Engineers in the Discipline
- Conducts technical validation and quality assurance (input/output data accuracy, technical appropriateness, consistency, practicality, code, optimum solution and regulatory compliance), provides technical advices or takes a lead as Project Discipline Lead – Topside ICSS and Control in executing Feasibility /Conceptual Study/Pre-FEED/FEED, EPCI Engineering for FPSO/FLNG or Offshore facilities projects
- Identify optimal solution and communicate these solutions through technical reports
- Develop Topside Engineering Workflow and Engineering Platform
- Conduct Conceptual/Feasibility Study to propose the optimum & competitive technical solution
- Develop Project Design Philosophies, Standards, Procedure and conduct feasibility studies, Pre-FEED, FEED, FEED Verification (Inception of EPCI Phase) and EPCI phase Engineering
- Manage Project Discipline Team (Topside ICSS and Control) – manning and schedule control
- Become the focal point for Topside ICSS and Control Discipline in Project Team and Communicate with Clients. Raise Technical Queries towards the client’s project documents, Design basis to ensure all scope of works and design basis are clarified
- Update and Maintain EPCI and O&M Phase Lesson Learnt database
Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelor Degree or Master Degree in ICSS and Control or relevant Engineering
- Minimum 15 years of experience in the offshore or onshore oil and gas industry
- Minimum consecutive 6 years experience at top-tier FPSO contractor or Offshore/Onshore EPC contractor
- Minimum 1 to 2 FPSO EPCI Project experience from early stage engineering until the sail-away to site or delivery of FPSO
- Minimum 1 FPSO FEED/EPCI Project experience as a Project Lead – Topside ICSS and Control including Topsides ICSS and Control Conceptual / Feasibility Studies
- Hands-on ICSS and Control engineering experience in FPSO or Offshore EPCI projects, especially Topside ICSS and Control Design Basis, ICSS Design with ICSS Vendor and Supervision of Topside Detailed Engineering Organization or Subcontractors
- Hands-on Field Engineering in Construction and Commissioning phase is value-added
- Extensive knowledge of ICSS and Control engineering practices, principles, industry codes and standards – as well as an understanding of scientific methods of problem-solving
- Very strong leadership skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, with strong attention to detail and accuracy. ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to work with and to communicate effectively with co-workers, vendors, clients and manage multiple priorities
- Fluent in English, with strong oral and written communication skills
