Job Description
Job Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Chemists in carrying out a range of process testing and analyses aimed at ensuring the integrity of Process Systems, ensuring there is no contamination and that plant and equipment remain corrosion free
- Lead a team for discussions with Production Foreman Facilities to discuss findings of analyses, providing suggestions on remedial measures when appropriate. Helps troubleshoot process problems involving overboard water quality
- Ensure and certify the quality of all crude oil exported from the assigned field in accordance with ATM/API standards. Carries out the sampling and analysis of crude oil in storage and during loading operations, providing results of analyses to accompany Bill of Lading for all export shipped products. Oversee the record-keeping of all tests on product quality.
- Manage a team that carries out a variety of other chemical sampling and tests on operating systems and other related matters on the platform. Includes fuel gas, jet fuel, scale samples, oil samples, overboard water quality and fuel. Documents and communicates the results of all tests. Carries out the monthly testing of water produced from each well on a monthly basis and of acid injection rates and strengths. Maintains potable water quality
- Lead a team that carries out the regular calibration of laboratory testing equipment, particularly equipment used for testing of export crude oil. Maintains all laboratory equipment at optimum operational levels, carrying out or arranging maintenance and keeping equipment records for all
- Ensures that all activities in the Laboratory are carried out in accordance with the Company’s safety policies and procedures. Ensures that all safety rules and regulations are fully explained to Company employees including the safe handling and use of chemicals and disposal of water products; that appropriate safety and protective equipment is ordered and stocked in the work unit; that safety notices are prominently displayed in all work
Requirements
- Minimum Engineering Degree in relevant field of study
- At least 16 years of experience in related works for FPSO/FLNG facilities
- At least 5 years of engineering team management experience
