Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all post-fixture operations for assigned vessels, ensuring smooth execution from voyage start to completion.
- Provide voyage instructions to the vessel’s Master in accordance with the charter party (C/P) terms and internal procedures.
- Track voyage status through noon reports, ECA updates, and port call progress; relay timely updates to charterers, brokers, and traders.
- Monitor bunker consumption, port schedules, cargo handling, and ETA changes to address potential disruptions.
- Handle post-voyage documentation, including Statement of Facts (SOF), laytime evaluation, and demurrage or dispatch claims.
- Coordinate with shipping agents, terminal operators, port authorities, and surveyors to ensure efficient port operations.
- Manage cargo documentation such as Bills of Lading, manifests, MSDS, and shipping instructions.
- Ensure all pre-arrival requirements, terminal approvals, and compatibility verifications are completed on time.
- Oversee Notices of Readiness (NOR), berth scheduling, and the full loading/discharging process.
- Supervise risk-related matters concerning Bill of Lading issuance and its controlled release.
- Ensure vessel operations align with international maritime laws and environmental regulations.
- Coordinate tank inspections, verify cargo compatibility, and maintain terminal HSSE compliance.
- Monitor and manage special cargo handling requirements including heating, cooling, tank cleaning, or nitrogen blanketing when needed.
- Engage in daily communication with Masters, charterers, brokers, and other external parties.
- Act as the main operational contact, providing quick resolutions to voyage-related issues.
- Keep clients and internal teams informed on voyage developments, performance, and any deviations from the planned schedule.
- Support calculations for freight variations, deviation charges, bunker reconciliations, and demurrage claims.
- Process and verify all voyage-related charges, including bunkering, port disbursement accounts, and agency costs.
- Contribute to voyage P&L reviews and assist in creating voyage performance summaries.
- Review and manage voyage-related expenses to stay within budget while identifying cost-saving measures in areas such as bunkering and port operations.
- Plan and coordinate bunkering schedules efficiently with the bunker desk.
- Reduce idle periods, operational delays, and off-hire incidents through proactive voyage monitoring.
- Perform additional responsibilities or assignments as delegated by management.
RequirementsÂ
- Diploma or degree in Maritime, Logistics, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in vessel operations, preferably involving chemical, oil, or product tankers.
- In-depth understanding of vessel operational procedures, shipping regulations, port logistics, and chartering terms.
- Experience with tools like IMOS and DADESK is an advantage.
- Self-driven and capable of operating with limited supervision.
- Fluency in both English and Mandarin is required for communicating with Mandarin-speaking partners.
- Role is office-based but may require occasional site visits to ports, vessels, or meetings with clients.
- Must be reachable 24/7 by phone and prepared to work extended hours or respond during urgent situations.
