Responsibilities
- Strategically negotiate and secure competitive ocean freight rates from shipping lines, focusing on cost-efficiency and service reliability
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with shipping lines at a regional and global level ensuring company’s access to the best market rates and terms
- Lead the procurement process from sourcing to negotiation with keen focus on aligning costs with strategic business objectives
- Collaborate closely with the logistics and business development teams to identify new business opportunities and expand customer base in SEA region
- Analyze market trends and shipping line strategies to anticipate changes in freight rates and availability, while adjusting procurement strategies accordingly
Requirements
- At least 7 years of direct shipping line procurement/sourcing experience with proven track record in securing competitive rates and favorable terms
- Demonstrate the ability to conduct negotiations at a regional global level with extensive knowledge in the shipping industry and market dynamics
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex data to inform purchasing decisions and business strategies
- Excellent relationship management skills, capable of building and maintaining strong connections with shipping lines and industry stakeholders
- Highly proactive and strategic thinker with strong business acumen and the ability to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities
