Job Description
Role:
- Install, commission, and integrate marine electronic systems such as radar, GPS, AIS, communication, and navigation equipment on various commercial vessels.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance to ensure optimal performance of electronic systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in electronic equipment, resolving issues efficiently.
- Coordinate with vessel crews and clients to understand their requirements and provide technical support.
- Perform testing and performance evaluations to ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of service activities, equipment status, and reports.
- Collaborate with internal teams and departments to deliver integrated marine electronic solutions.
- Stay updated on advancements in marine electronic technology and industry best practices.
- Provide technical training and guidance to junior technicians or vessel personnel.
- Uphold high standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction in all tasks and projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or Marine Technology.
- 2 – 4 years of experience as a Marine Electronics Service Engineer in the commercial maritime sector.
- Strong expertise in marine electronic systems, including radar, GPS, AIS, communication, and navigation equipment.
- Familiarity with IACS regulations and industry standards for marine electronic systems.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and test equipment for troubleshooting and repairs.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to perform under pressure in maritime environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with clients and team members.
- Willingness to travel and work on vessels as required.
- Ability to work independently and in a team, demonstrating a proactive and adaptable approach.
