Job Scope
- As a Marine Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and integrity of marine vessels, providing expert assessments and recommendations to our clients.
- Conducting comprehensive inspections and surveys of various marine cargoes, including cargo damage and cargo mitigation.
- Identifying and reporting on the condition of the cargo, equipment, and systems
- Evaluating damage and providing detailed analysis and recommendations for repairs
- Assisting with the preparation of survey reports, documenting findings, and making recommendations
- Collaborating with clients, stakeholders, and other professionals to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Staying up-to-date with the latest industry developments, regulations, and best practices
- Providing expert testimony and advice in legal proceedings, as required
Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in marine engineering, naval architecture, or a related field
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Marine Surveyor, with a proven track record of conducting thorough and accurate inspections
- Extensive knowledge of marine cargo, as well as relevant industry regulations and standards
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders
- Proficiency in report writing and documentation
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to various locations as required
