Job Description

Duties:

  • Promote and ensureadherenceofvesselsto health, safety, and environmental regulations and protocols.
  • Verifythat vessels are preparedforoperation and can safely and efficiently carryout voyages and cargo activities.
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee all mandatory, class, and RO audits and inspections, encompassing ISM, ISPS, and MLC.
  • Organize,execute, and monitor vetting inspections, involving preparation and submission via the OCIMF SIRE system.
  • Oversee navigational safety, whichincludesevaluating and approving passage plans alongwithconducting navigation audits.
  • Verifythat vessels adhereto terminal regulations, operator directives, oil major criteria, and charterer specifications.
  • Manage and coordinate issuesconcerning Flag State and Port State authorities.
  • Verifythat Q88 and HVPQ detailsareprecise,comprehensive, and regularlyrefreshed.
  • Track regulatory changes and provideguidance on shifts in laws,standards, and industry best practices.
  • Assess,uphold, and improve the organization’s Safety Management System (SMS).
  • Supply vessels with explicit guidance, directions, and pertinent information to aidin compliance and ensure safe operations.
  • Assist,mentor, and uphold standards concerning crew skills,effectiveness, and conduct.
  • Support operational and technical inquiriesrelatedto vessel capabilities and performance.
  • Engage as a key member of the organization’s emergency response team.
  • Carryoutextraresponsibilities,tasks, and projects as instructed by management.

 

Specifications:

  • Maritime experience as a Master (at least CoC Class 1 or 2), or a minimum of 2 years of applicable shore-based experience in HSE management and regulatory adherence for product or chemical tankers.
  • Strong understanding of both international and local maritime laws and compliance standards.
  • Exhibited honesty, responsibility, and ethical behavior.
  • Robust leadership, teamwork, administration, and communication skills.
  • Capability to set a strong example and inspire and encourage others positively.
