Job Description

Role:
  • Oversee the daily marine operations of assigned vessels in close collaboration with the fleet team.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, security, and environmental standards for assigned vessels.
  • Perform the duties of CSO and Alternate DPA for the vessels under your responsibility.
  • Maintain the readiness of assigned ships for PSC, RightShip, and customer inspections.
  • Ensure timely resolution of non-conformances, observations, and deficiencies from internal and external audits or inspections on assigned vessels.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and routine visits to monitor ship performance as needed.
  • Support incident investigations, including root cause analysis, and assist in addressing deficiencies while implementing preventive actions.
  • Evaluate operational risks from a marine and navigational perspective for assigned vessels.
  • Conduct crew briefings and debriefings on marine-related matters.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of the quality management system and participate in the continuous improvement of departmental procedures.
  • Provide training and familiarization for crew members on marine matters.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years of sailing experience as a Master on ocean-going container or bulk carriers operating worldwide.
  • 1-2 years of shore-based experience as a Marine Superintendent.
  • Strong knowledge of ISM Code, ISPS, MARPOL, MLC, and other relevant maritime regulations.
