Job Description

Position Summary
The Marine Operations Manager (Tug) is responsible for managing the daily operations of tugboats, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant towing and harbor operations. The role oversees vessel performance, crew coordination, and operational planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise daily tugboat operations, including towing, berthing, and harbor assistance.

  • Plan and coordinate tug schedules, crew assignments, and vessel deployment.

  • Ensure compliance with maritime safety regulations, port authority rules, and company policies.

  • Monitor vessel performance, fuel usage, and maintenance requirements.

  • Coordinate with port authorities, pilots, shipping agents, and terminal operators.

  • Investigate operational incidents and implement safety improvements.

  • Prepare operational reports and ensure proper documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marine Transportation, Marine Engineering, or related field.

  • Experience in tugboat operations, harbor towage, or marine fleet operations.

  • Previous experience as Master Mariner, Chief Mate, or Marine Operations Supervisor is preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of port operations, maritime regulations, and safety management systems.

  • Good leadership, planning, and communication skills.
