Job Description
We are seeking a seasoned professional to fill the role of Marine Operations Director to be based at Doha, Middle East. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing shore support to vessels by handling their day-to-day operational issues in accordance with company guidelines, port-specific requirements, flag, and international regulations.
This involves overseeing the daily operations of vessels with specific importance given to Navigation, cargo, occupational health, safety, and environment aspects. The goal is to ensure that vessels are operated in a safe and efficient manner, which will result in reduced or zero incidents, directly leading to satisfied clients and alignment with our company’s QHSE policy, fostering business growth.
Responsibilities include:
- Compliance with company SMS procedures, forms, and checklists.
- Compliance with IMO, Flag, and port state regulations.
- MACN policy compliance.
- Security-related compliance.
- Contingency assistance to the vessels at any time.
- Ensuring favorable results from PSC, Flag, Class, P&I, third-party inspections, and audits.
- Incident investigation, root cause analysis, and report making.
- Extending support to CMS for compliance of incident investigations and RCA.
- Carrying out and arranging ISM/ISPS/MLC audits.
- Ensuring technical management of vessels within our SMS barriers.
- Maintaining declared KPIs for the fleet.
- Continual improvement, determination, monitoring, and accomplishment.
- Informing management of any required amendments to our SMS.
Requirements include:
- At least 18 years of working experience in the maritime industry
- At least 5 years of experience in senior management post
- Sailed as Master onboard Ocean-going vessels.
- Vessel type: AHTS and PSV
