Job Description
Crewing Strategy & Operations
- Execute crew supply strategy for vessels utilizing Chinese seafarers
- Maintain a sustainable crew pipeline aligned with fleet requirements
- Improve recruitment efficiency, deployment timelines and crew availability
- Monitor manning performance and implement retention initiatives
Agency & Vendor Management
- Oversee manning agencies across China
- Evaluate agency performance, KPIs and service quality
- Conduct periodic audits and site visits
- Develop long-term partnerships with crewing providers
Stakeholder & Operations Interface
- Act as main liaison between principals, fleet operations and crewing partners
- Handle escalations and urgent manning matters
- Build strong relationships with shipowners and internal stakeholders
Compliance & Quality
- Ensure crewing activities comply with maritime regulations and company standards
- Coordinate agency audits, documentation reviews and compliance checks
- Monitor agency practices against industry standards
Crew Welfare & Retention
- Support seafarer welfare and engagement initiatives
- Work with agencies to improve retention and reduce turnover
- Maintain communication between company, agencies and crew
Reporting & Business Support
- Prepare manpower forecasts, reports and operational updates
- Support development of crew management and supply services
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and agreements
Requirements
- Experience in ship management, crewing operations or manning agency environment
- Understanding of seafarer recruitment, deployment and documentation
- Familiarity with maritime regulations and compliance standards
- Experience managing vendors, partners or regional offices
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
