- Offer legal counsel and assistance to upper management and internal partiesregardingvarious business and operational issues.
- Prepare,evaluate,revise, and negotiate business contracts and other legal documents.
- Counsel stakeholders regardingcontract terms, legal consequences, and risk factors.
- Manage corporate secretarial tasks and assistwith the company’s governance and compliance needs.
- Overseeinsuranceaffairs,encompassing renewals, policy paperwork, and claims management.
- Coordinate with P&I Clubs, H&M insurers, claims adjusters, and other external entitiesregarding claims and insurance issues.
- Collaborate with internal teams during incidents or claims and assistin the overall claims management process.
- Collaborate with outside legal advisorsasnecessary on disputes, claims, or specific legal issues.
- Provide the company with practical, commercially viable legal solutions while safeguardingits interests.
Requirements
- JurisDoctor from anaccredited university.
- A minimum of 5 years of pertinent legal experience, ideally acquired either in-house or at a law firm dealing with shipping or maritime issues.
- Previous experience in the maritime or shipping sector is crucial.
- Strongknowledge of contract preparation,assessment, and bargaining.
- Havingexperiencewith corporate secretarial duties and insurance or claims issues will be greatlybeneficial.
- Knowledgeof P&I, H&M, and associated maritime claims procedures is preferred.
- Excellent communication abilities and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Capableofworkingautonomously,handlingvarious priorities, and functioningassertively in a streamlinedsetting.
