Job Description
Job Summary:
Responsible for managing legal matters and maritime claims for shipowner operations, ensuring protection of company interests and compliance with maritime regulations.
Key Responsibilities:

Handle maritime claims including cargo damage, collision, personal injury, and Charter Party disputes.

Liaise with lawyers, insurers, surveyors, and Protection and Indemnity Club.

Review and advise on contracts, charter parties, and shipping agreements.

Manage claim investigations, negotiations, and settlements.

Ensure compliance with regulations from the International Maritime Organization and other maritime authorities.

Advise management on legal risks and maritime liabilities.
Requirements:

Degree in Law, Maritime Law, or related field.

5+ years experience in maritime legal or claims handling within a shipowner or shipping company.

Strong knowledge of maritime law, shipping contracts, and claims management.

Experience handling disputes involving vessels and cargo.

Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple legal cases and claims.
