Job Description

  • Oversee the design, creation, and incorporation of marine systems (propulsion, auxiliary, piping, HVAC, and onboard utilities).
  • Deliver technical guidance throughout projects from initial design to commissioning.
  • Evaluate and authorize engineering designs, computations, and technical requirements.
  • Guarantee adherence to International Maritime Organization (IMO) standards and classification criteria (e.g., DNV, Lloyd’s Register).
  • Oversee system connections among mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
  • Assist with new construction, conversions, and renovation projects (e.g., emissions control systems, ballast water management)
  • Perform technical assessments, risk analyses, and resolution of intricate system problems.
  • Supervise factory acceptance tests (FAT), commissioning, and ocean trials.
  • Collaborate with shipyards, designers, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Observe system performance and suggest enhancements for efficiency and dependability.
  • Create and uphold engineering records, guidelines, and documentation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of pertinent experience in marine, offshore, or shipbuilding initiatives.
  • Robust understanding of propulsion systems, pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, and fluid systems.
  • Familiarity with design engineering software and integration of marine systems.
  • Thorough comprehension of IMO regulations (SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM Code) and classification guidelines.
  • Demonstrated experience in guiding engineering teams or overseeing technical projects.
  • Robust analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Skills in effective communication and managing stakeholders.
  • Preferred experience in new construction or significant retrofitting projects.
  • Readiness to travel for shipyard inspections, testing, and offshore assistance
