Job Description
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Act as the principal designer for assigned projects, leading and managing a team of designers and drafters in executing engineering and detailed design activities. Responsible for conceptualizing, developing, and delivering project designs throughout all stages — from initial concept to project completion and handover.
Main Duties
- Lead and facilitate technical discussions, identify and resolve design-related issues, and participate in Client/Vendor meetings to establish and align project objectives.
- Assess and address design challenges, explore opportunities for improvement, and identify key factors influencing the project’s design outcome.
- Develop, compile, and maintain comprehensive design and project documentation packages.
- Provide necessary design and technical input to the Lead Engineer regarding project scope, 3D modeling integration, design deliverables, and schedule management.
- Assign responsibilities and tasks to team members effectively, ensuring clarity and accountability.
- Review design methodologies and produce supporting analyses or documentation as required.
- Manage and guide the design team to deliver accurate and timely design outputs in line with project milestones and quality standards.
- Coordinate and communicate with fellow designers and cross-discipline teams to align design concepts, objectives, and deliverables according to project requirements.
- Supervise the design team in responding to site queries, ensuring proper documentation and timely follow-up.
- Evaluate design feedback during development stages, work with the team to address comments, and implement necessary design adjustments.
- Perform regular design progress reviews to ensure technical accuracy, quality, and compliance with specifications.
- Conduct periodic site inspections to monitor construction progress, identify potential design discrepancies, and support in resolving any design-related issues.
- Undertake additional tasks or assignments delegated by the Lead Engineer as required.
