Job Description

Work for one of the World’s largest Marine EPC Contractor in China as a Lead Designer to perform engineering and detailed design works for mega projects. Your main job scope will require excellent understanding to the different kinds of project design requirements, standards and materials for E-Houses and Offshore Accommodation such as Living Quarters, Control Rooms, Utility Buildings, Technical Buildings and etc. Details as follow:

Job Scope

  1. To lead and conduct technical clarification work and identify technical issues. Participate in Client/Vendor meetings to determine project goals
  2.  Identify design challenges and opportunities, key issues and other analysis or considerations that will have impact on the project design
  3. Produce and maintain project package
  4. Provide input to the Lead Engineer as it relates to the scope of work, 3D modelling integration, design deliverables and project schedule
  5. Delegate and assign work to subordinate designers
  6. Examine design patterns and produce associated documentation and/or analysis as necessary
  7. Lead the design work and supervise the team to produce design deliverables as per defined project schedules
  8. Collaborate and coordinate with other designer/team members as necessary to convey design goals, design concepts and ensure production of the necessary designs
  9. Lead and supervise the designer team to coordinate and respond to site enquiry to prepare the necessary documentation
  10. Review and collaborate design feedback during the production of design development documents and coordinate with the designer team to execute necessary actions
  11. Perform design reviews of project progress documents
  12. Participate in periodic construction site visits to observe construction progress proactively to identify potential design issues and/or assist with resolutions
  13. Perform work assigned by the Lead Engineer

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in architectural design or related field
  • At least 10 years of experience in marine architectural design or related field
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, 3D modelling, visualization and design software
  • Knowledge and strong understanding of building materials, zoning, design development, construction detailing and accessibility requirements
  • Good command in English (written & oral)
  • Good command of MS Office Suite
  • Good understanding in technical and business terms
