Job Description
In this position, you will drive the promotion of safety and environmental awareness across all operational activities, ensuring compliance with company policies and statutory requirements. By working closely with site teams, you will monitor workplace safety standards and actively support the implementation and enforcement of health, safety, and environmental procedures. The role involves conducting thorough risk assessments, establishing preventive measures, and delivering training to employees and contractors to reduce occupational hazards and environmental risks.
Reporting to the HSSEQ and Training Manager, your scope of duties will include, but is not limited to:
• Administer and maintain the company’s safety management documentation and filing system.
• Monitor HSE initiatives, keep accurate records, and prepare progress reports and tender-related documentation.
• Perform document reviews in accordance with company control procedures within an ISO-certified environment, identifying and highlighting any non-conformance.
• Ensure all departments across various entities complete and submit reports and correspondence within stipulated timelines.
• Support incident investigations by ensuring proper root cause analysis and documentation of lessons learned, and upload records to the system.
• Assist in preparing and disseminating internal and external Health & Safety Alerts and incident-related communications.
• Actively support initiatives to strengthen and sustain a positive safety culture throughout the organization.
• Participate in internal office and vessel audits to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Provide assistance during external audits and help coordinate management review meetings.
• Track, update, and maintain fleet HSSEQ and Training performance indicators, including customer satisfaction metrics.
• Prepare HSSEQ and Training reports by compiling data, analyzing trends, and submitting reports as required.
• Maintain and update the company’s Safety Management System manuals, records, and document library.
• Undertake any other duties assigned by the HSSEQ and Training Manager.
Job Requirements
• A self-motivated team player who can work independently with minimal supervision.
• Minimum Diploma qualification in HSE or a relevant marine-related discipline.
• At least 2 years of hands-on HSE experience, preferably within the marine or shipping industry.
• Demonstrates strong commitment and passion for HSE practices.
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with external stakeholders.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Completed occupational health and safety training with practical exposure to HSEQ duties.
• Knowledge of ISM and ISPS codes, incident investigation methods, and risk management practices is an advantage.
• Preferably holds internal auditor certifications for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
