Job Description

  • Provide support to sites for all Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security challenges. Implement HSSQE strategies, initiatives, and programs, serving as a central liaison between the management team and marine crew.
  • Deploy and maintain HSSQE management systems, standards, and tools. Monitor HSSQE performance, manage auditing, certifications, and assurance programs, and take necessary actions for continuous improvement.
  • Supervise environmental issues.
  • Ensure the Integrated Management System supports regulatory compliance and advise on relevant Health and Safety legislation and regulations.
  • Implement and collaborate on HSSQE best practices across sites and segments, seeking continuous performance improvements.
  • Engage in strategic planning for HSSQE workplans aligned with Key Performance Indicators.
  • Promote HSSQE through campaigns.
  • Maintain the Safety Management System in accordance with ISM, ISPS Codes, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001.
  • Identify gaps in knowledge or skills (with a focus on safety, company policies, and procedures) and implement corrective actions to ensure competency levels are met and maintained.
  • Foster team spirit and collaboration with regional departments.
  • Address breaches in HSSQE standards.
  • Optimize the regional HSSQE organization to add value to the company.

Requirements:

  • Team player, self-motivated, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Minimum degree in a relevant discipline and/or Diploma in Maritime/Nautical Studies with COC Class 2 & above.
  • Strong passion for HSSQE, knowledge of ISM and ISPS standards, and qualifications as an internal auditor for ISO/ISM.
  • Training and practical experience in investigation.
  • Occupational health and safety training and practical experience in HSSQE-related tasks.
  • Experience and knowledge in ship vetting, OVMSA regime, and marine risk management.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and presentation skills with the ability to build relationships with external partners.
  • Ability to work in a fast-changing environment and prioritize daily tasks based on risk management.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel on short notice as required.
