Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Operations to lead and oversee the operations department of the bulk carrier fleet. The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of 12 years of experience in dry bulk operations and a strong leadership background, preferably with Master Mariner certification.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead, manage, and mentor the operations team to ensure efficient and safe vessel operations.

Oversee daily operations of a fleet of bulk carriers, ensuring compliance with international regulations and company standards.

Optimize voyage planning, bunker management, port operations, and turnaround times.

Coordinate closely with chartering, technical, and crewing departments.

Maintain strong relationships with port agents, charterers, and other stakeholders.

Implement operational best practices and continuous improvement strategies.

Prepare and manage departmental budgets and KPIs.

Handle operational crisis management and provide leadership during emergencies.
Requirements:

Minimum 12 years of hands-on experience in dry bulk shipping operations.

Proven track record in leading teams and managing operational departments.

Master Mariner certificate preferred.

Strong knowledge of international maritime regulations, charter party terms, and cargo handling.

Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
