Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management
-
Lead and manage the operations team to ensure smooth execution of voyages, from fixture to completion.

Oversee post-fixture operations including laytime calculations, demurrage/dispatch settlements, and voyage performance monitoring.

Ensure compliance with charter party terms, safety regulations, and company policies.

Coordinate with masters, agents, and counterparties to resolve voyage-related issues promptly and efficiently.
Leadership & Process Improvement

Provide guidance and mentorship to junior operations staff.

Develop and implement operational best practices to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Maintain a strong HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) culture and ensure adherence to international maritime standards.

Collaborate cross-functionally with chartering and accounts to improve workflow and reporting accuracy.
Commercial & Strategic Involvement
-
Support chartering and management teams with operational insights and voyage evaluations.

Contribute to strategic planning for fleet deployment, cost optimisation, and client satisfaction.

Establish and maintain strong relationships with shipowners, charterers, port authorities, and service providers.
Requirements
-
Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Shipping, Logistics, or related discipline.

Minimum 5-6 years of relevant dry bulk or tanker operations experience.

Strong understanding of charter party terms, voyage management, and post-fixture processes.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills with attention to detail.

Proactive, hands-on leader with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency in MS Office and voyage management software preferred.
