Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Head of Finance to lead the full spectrum of finance activities within the organisation. This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving financial strategy, strengthening governance, and ensuring the business is supported by sound financial planning, controls, and reporting. Candidates with prior experience in the marine, shipping, or related industries will be highly preferred.
The Head of Finance will oversee all core finance functions, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, FP&A, treasury, taxation, audit, compliance, and internal controls. Working closely with senior management, the successful candidate will provide strategic financial insights, support business planning, and help steer the organisation towards its commercial and operational goals.
Key responsibilities include leading the annual budgeting process, preparing accurate forecasts, and delivering meaningful financial analysis to support business decision-making. The role will also be responsible for ensuring timely preparation of management reports and statutory financial statements, maintaining compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements, and managing relationships with auditors, tax advisors, bankers, and other external stakeholders.
The incumbent will play a key role in monitoring cash flow, managing working capital, and ensuring the company maintains a strong financial position. In addition, the Head of Finance will review and enhance internal controls, risk management processes, and finance policies to ensure the organisation operates with strong governance and financial discipline.
As a people leader, this role requires a proven track record of managing and developing finance teams, setting clear direction, and delivering results through others. The successful candidate should be comfortable operating at both strategic and hands-on levels, with the ability to guide the team while also remaining close to the detail when required.
To be considered, candidates should possess a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline from a local university, along with a professional Chartered Accountant qualification such as CA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent. You should have solid experience in senior finance leadership positions, with a strong understanding of all areas of finance, including FP&A. Prior exposure to the marine or shipping industry will be viewed favourably.
The ideal candidate is a strong finance leader with sound commercial judgment, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders. You should have a demonstrated track record of managing people effectively, driving performance, and delivering measurable business outcomes. A high level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail is essential for success in this role.
This is an excellent opportunity for a capable finance professional to take on a key leadership position and contribute meaningfully to the growth, stability, and long-term success of the organisation.
