Job Description

Direct Search Global is working with a fast-growing SGX-listed ship owner to fill the role of Head of Business Development to be based at their Singapore office.  Job Description:

  • Responsible for driving business growth initiatives, from opportunity identification to campaign execution, to achieve Company order intake, sales, and profit targets.
  • Identify, analyze, and cultivate new business prospects and market segments.
  • Assess and propose opportunities to Senior Management.
  • Formulate bid/offer submissions and pricing strategies.
  • Engage in negotiations with stakeholders.
  • Develop proposals, presentations, and provide regular business development updates to the board.
  • Conduct due diligence in collaboration with consultants and internal experts.
  • Collaborate with the Bids and Proposals Manager to contribute to the formulation and presentation of capture and bid recommendations, participating in go/no-go decisions and gate review processes.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business or other relevant disciplines.
  • Minimum of 15 years of working experience within the marine industry, preferably shipbuilding
  • Candidate with past experience working at shipyards or fabrication yards will have added advantage
  • At least 3 years of working experience in senior management capacity.
  • Extensive network in the region’s marine industry
  • Excellent track record in winning shipbuilding projects
  • Strong Leadership capability with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to liaise with C-suite level and senior management personnels.
  • High level of commercial and business acumen and an international business mindset.
  • Able to prepare business proposal papers and/or presentation slides to Senior Management and Board level clearly and logically.
