Job Description

Main Responsibilities and Tasks

 

  • Maintain an overview of the Offices and Fleet Vetting performance in line with TMSA, SIRE, CDI.
  • Coordinate with the Marine/HSEQ teams regarding significant issues such as vessel rejections, rejected Vetting Responses, technical holds, the outcome of oil company TMSA / management reviews and any other matter that may negatively impact the office / fleet.
  • Suggest and drive improvements in SMS, related to TMSA, with aim of improving ratings standards.
  • Suggest improvements to Marine Managers in analysis and corrective Actions for Vetting Observations.
  • Carry out Annual Reviews of the Company’s TMSA Declarations with the Marine Managers, to drive improvement initiatives and best practices.
  • Develop and build liaison relations on behalf of the company with external vetting bodies.
  • Participate, conduct, and evaluate incident investigations as tasked by HSEQ.
  • Contribute and participate in DC Committee reviews as tasked by Manager.
  • Assist HSEQ in projects/development initiatives as well as preparation of Reports as tasked by Manager.

Qualifications

Mandatory requirements:

  • Maritime qualifications as Master with seagoing experience of at least 2 years as Master on Ocean-Going Tankers
  • Good command of oral and written English.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Environmentally focused.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills to develop close relationships with shipboard staff, vessel owners, charterers as well as internal and external support functions including Vetting and TMSA
  • Preferably with Auditor qualification.

Additional preferences:

  • Good Computer Skills specifically in Microsoft Office
  • Good in spoken and written English
  • Experience in  SIRE / CDI Vetting Programmes / External Audits.
