Job Description
Responsibilities:
• Provide support in reconciling positions across physical and derivatives books in collaboration with the Book Manager and Trade Control teams.
• Assist with the end-to-end handling of procurement and sales contracts, including declarations and delivery coordination.
• Draft, circulate, and complete contractual documentation in accordance with internal approval processes.
• Ensure accuracy of data captured in systems and perform reconciliations between system-generated and manual records.
• Support the resolution of operational and delivery-related issues through coordination with TOD and other relevant teams.
Responsibilities
1. Position Management (25%)
• Assist in aligning positions between physical and derivatives books to manage exposure effectively, working alongside the Book Manager and Trade Control under the supervision of the Senior Trade Support & Execution Specialist.
• Input trade data accurately into systems and support periodic (weekly/monthly) position reconciliation processes.
• Help investigate and resolve discrepancies such as trade breaks or mismatches with internal teams and counterparties.
• Facilitate communication across front office, trade control, and corporate functions to ensure timely issue resolution.
2. Contract Execution Support (25%)
• Provide support in executing procurement and sales agreements, ensuring that declarations and deliveries are in line with contractual obligations under the guidance of senior team members.
• Coordinate with Front Office, Trade Control, and Corporate teams to ensure efficient contract execution and address any operational challenges.
3. Contract Administration (25%)
• Assist in preparing, reviewing, and finalizing contractual documents in line with company procedures, legal requirements, and business objectives.
• Support discussions with stakeholders and customers regarding contract terms, under the direction of senior team members.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, control standards, and relevant regulatory requirements, including proper documentation and approval workflows.
4. System Control & Data Integrity (15%)
• Assist in preparing and distributing accurate trade recaps and contract summaries to Trade Control and Corporate teams in a timely manner.
• Maintain high data accuracy by reconciling system entries against manual records and supporting data validation checks.
5. Pre-trade Support (10%)
• Support the preparation of credit line (Gendo) applications and onboarding documentation for counterparties and warehouse partners, under guidance from senior staff.
• Assist in managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support efficient trade execution and compliance requirements.
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
• Basic familiarity with metals and minerals trading, including products such as Copper Cathode.
• Understanding of LME futures, hedging practices, and core commodity risk management principles.
• Experience with SAP and CTRM platforms would be an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong proficiency in English; ability to communicate in Chinese (spoken and/or written) is required for interaction with Chinese-speaking stakeholders.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in trade operations within a trading environment, ideally in metals or bulk commodities.
