Job Description
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of Technical Superintendents overseeing the LNG fleet
- Ensure the safe, reliable, and cost-effective technical operation of assigned vessels
- Oversee vessel maintenance, repairs, dry dockings, and technical performance across the fleet
- Monitor and guide Technical Superintendents on daily operational and technical matters
- Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations, class requirements, vetting standards, and company policies
- Review fleet performance, maintenance strategies, and operational KPIs to drive continuous improvement
- Manage technical budgets, cost control initiatives, and procurement strategies for the fleet
- Coordinate with shipyards, vendors, classification societies, and regulatory authorities on technical matters
- Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions
- Work closely with marine, HSSEQ, crewing, and operations teams to ensure smooth fleet operations
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance management to the technical team
Requirements
- Chief Engineer background with sailing experience on LNG vessels preferred
- Extensive shore-based experience managing LNG vessels in a Technical Superintendent or Fleet Manager capacity
- Strong leadership experience managing technical teams and multiple vessels
- Good knowledge of LNG vessel operations, maintenance practices, and technical management systems
- Familiarity with international maritime regulations, class requirements, and LNG industry standards
- Strong budgeting, planning, and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and operationally demanding environment
