Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage drydocking, major repairs, and new system installations, ensuring alignment with operational goals and regulatory standards.

  • Work closely with internal teams (technical, marine assurance, IT), sea staff, classification societies, clients, and external partners.

  • Lead repair budget planning, factoring in vessel age, company policies, evolving regulations, and project location.

  • Collaborate with Technical Superintendents to plan and deliver repair projects, selecting suitable shipyards and ensuring timely, cost-effective execution with minimal downtime.

  • Conduct vessel visits (and sail if needed) to develop detailed repair scopes in line with statutory and client requirements.

  • Oversee layup repair execution, track costs and timelines, and handle post-project invoicing and settlement.

Process Improvement & Digitalization

  • Develop and optimize drydocking procedures, covering both technical and safety aspects.

  • Maintain a project and cost database to support data-driven planning.

  • Help improve digital tools (ERP systems) to standardize specs, monitor progress, compare quotes, and streamline billing.

  • Review completed projects to capture learnings and improve future processes.

  • Partner with the Fleet Systems team on ERP enhancements, drafting change requests, testing, and reviewing upgrades.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Degree in Engineering or related field, preferably with 2+ years’ sailing experience as a 2nd Engineer or higher.

  • Willing and able to travel frequently on short notice and manage a 24/7 on-call role as needed.
