Job Description
Key Responsibilities
-
Manage drydocking, major repairs, and new system installations, ensuring alignment with operational goals and regulatory standards.

Work closely with internal teams (technical, marine assurance, IT), sea staff, classification societies, clients, and external partners.

Lead repair budget planning, factoring in vessel age, company policies, evolving regulations, and project location.

Collaborate with Technical Superintendents to plan and deliver repair projects, selecting suitable shipyards and ensuring timely, cost-effective execution with minimal downtime.

Conduct vessel visits (and sail if needed) to develop detailed repair scopes in line with statutory and client requirements.

Oversee layup repair execution, track costs and timelines, and handle post-project invoicing and settlement.
Process Improvement & Digitalization

Develop and optimize drydocking procedures, covering both technical and safety aspects.

Maintain a project and cost database to support data-driven planning.

Help improve digital tools (ERP systems) to standardize specs, monitor progress, compare quotes, and streamline billing.

Review completed projects to capture learnings and improve future processes.

Partner with the Fleet Systems team on ERP enhancements, drafting change requests, testing, and reviewing upgrades.
Qualifications & Skills

Degree in Engineering or related field, preferably with 2+ years’ sailing experience as a 2nd Engineer or higher.

Willing and able to travel frequently on short notice and manage a 24/7 on-call role as needed.
