Job Description

Oversee all financial operations for the shipping company, including accounting, budgeting, and reporting

Prepare and analyze financial statements, forecasts, and performance reports for vessel operations
-
Manage cash flow, working capital, and financing arrangements for fleet operations
-
Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
-
Coordinate with auditors, banks, tax authorities, and regulatory agencies
-
Monitor and control operating costs, including crew costs, bunker, port charges, and dry-docking expenses
-
Evaluate investment opportunities, new vessel acquisitions, or charter contracts
-
Support strategic decision-making with financial analysis, risk assessment, and scenario modeling
-
Lead and supervise finance team, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting
Requirements
-
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CMA) preferred
-
7–12+ years of experience in finance, with at least 3–5 years in shipping or maritime operations

Strong knowledge of shipping economics, chartering, and ship operating costs

Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling

Familiarity with maritime regulations, tax compliance, and international accounting standards (IFRS)

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

Proficient in ERP systems, accounting software, and MS Excel
-
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
-
Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and support business strategy
