Job Description
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage the full spectrum of finance and accounting functions for the marine business, including full set of accounts, month-end and year-end closing.
• Prepare timely and accurate management accounts, financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and fixed assets, ensuring strong internal controls and compliance.
• Manage financial reporting for vessel operations, projects, shipyard costs, dry-docking, and repair & maintenance expenditures.
• Monitor project costing, margin analysis, and cost control for ship management, shipbuilding, offshore, or marine engineering projects.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, accounting standards, tax regulations, and audit requirements.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, banks, insurers, and regulatory bodies.
• Support contract review, billing structures, and revenue recognition in line with marine contracts and charter arrangements.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to management to support business decisions and operational efficiency.
• Implement and improve finance processes, systems, and reporting to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, ensuring high performance and professional standards.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Professional qualification (CA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) preferred.
• Minimum 8-12 years of relevant finance and accounting experience, preferably within the marine, shipping, offshore, or maritime services industry.
• Strong experience managing full sets of accounts and financial reporting.
• Good understanding of marine operations, vessel costing, project accounting, and industry-specific financial practices.
• Proficient in accounting and ERP systems; strong Excel skills required.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial management skills.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership abilities.
• Able to work independently in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
Preferred
• Experience in ship management, shipbuilding, offshore, or EPC marine environments.
• Exposure to multi-entity or regional finance management.
• Experience supporting audits, tax planning, and treasury management.
