Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver superior vessel performance, exceeding client expectations and outperforming other ship managers.
  • Lead the transformation of the fleet cell model by leveraging Centres of Excellence, technology, data, and innovative methods.
  • Ensure the Vessel Management System (VMS) is fully implemented across offices and the managed fleet, with sufficient resources to guarantee safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible operations. Conduct annual reviews to improve safety and quality performance.
  • Foster proactive client relationships by continually improving service levels per Management Agreements and addressing any client complaints promptly, ensuring senior management and the client are informed.
  • Ensure all management processes and systems across the fleet meet standards and are properly executed.
  • Oversee the annual budget process to meet financial targets, maximize revenue, and minimize fixed costs. Ensure prompt collection of management fees.
  • Collaborate with Crew Management to appoint, retain, and develop qualified personnel, both ashore and at sea.
  • Work with Marine Services to offer a full range of marine service options across the fleet, adding value to client operations.
  • Advise Fleet Managers on local industry developments, regulations, and statutory changes.
  • Ensure risk assessments for all projects are timely and comprehensive. Oversee transparent incident investigations, considering human factors and ensuring accountability

Requirements:

  • Qualified as Master Mariner, Chief Engineer, Naval Architect, or similar marine management role.
  • Strong technical expertise in safe and efficient fleet operations, with experience in managing financial budgets.
  • Solid knowledge of Port State Control, Flag State, MLCC Compliance, and Vessel Classification.
  • Proven leadership skills, capable of managing and mentoring staff teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, able to engage at all levels.
  • High integrity, self-motivated team leader with a positive attitude.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills, driving effective change.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, using data to inform decisions with attention to detail.
