Job Description
COMPETENCY
- Stay ahead of emerging trends and possess leadership with vision to identify growth opportunities, improve customer experience and secure strong foothold in the space of maritime innovation and sustainability
- Help the company capitalize on early-stage initiatives related to maritime innovation & sustainability
- Determine the company’s approach and priorities in maritime innovation & sustainability, driving towards relevant projects through ground-breaking ideas
- Work and collaborate diligently with resources and segment leaders to calibrate business strategies sand business opportunities
- Work with the internal global strategy teams to ensure alignment on global strategies
- Develop tools, forums and working processes to engage with innovation champions and experts to communication on latest trends and practices
- Be the “eyes and ears” of on-going market developments for maritime innovation & sustainability among technology players, start-ups and incubators
- Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to lead and manage projects from infant stages at creation to meeting company’s objectives
- Work closely with research institutions, academies of higher learning, government agencies and strategic partners to identify fundings for projects related to innovation & sustainability
- Manage budgets, costings and project development fundings for the department
REQUIREMENTS
- Master / Degree qualified in Marine Engineering or equivalent with minimum 10 years working experience in Marine & Offshore related industry, of which 2 years in commercial capacity
- Established reputation and credibility as an expert in maritime decarbonization and sustainability.
- Proven track record as a speaker at relevant conferences or seminars.
- Strong ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
- Possess excellent communication, networking and influencing skills.
- Enjoy meeting people and have good interpersonal skills.
- Possess foresight to spot trends and developments that are most relevant to sustainability and innovation and able to shape and clearly articulate the opportunities.
- Adaptable, resilient, and self-motivated
- Entrepreneurial mindset and able to work within a team and do well in both start-up and corporate environments
- Strong stakeholder management skills
