- Recruitment & Selection: Identifying, evaluating, and onboarding qualified personnel, which includes checking certifications and performing interviews.
- Deployment & Scheduling: Organizing, overseeing, and revising plans for crew rotations over 90 days or, more broadly, rotation schedules.
- Regulatory Adherence: Confirming that all personnel and ships comply with international laws (e.g., STCW, MLC 2006), flag state requirements, and corporate safety protocols.
- Performance Assessment: Assessing team performance, implementing performance reviews, and determining training requirements.
- Crew Welfare & Logistics: Managing travel logistics, visa processes, payroll, and resolving on-board crew matters or P&I (Protection and Indemnity) claims.
- Documentation: Keeping current and precise crew records, certificates, and databases
Skills
- Industry Expertise: Profound comprehension of maritime (or applicable sector) regulations, certification criteria, and safety protocols.
- Leadership & Management: Skill in overseeing staff, addressing disputes, and managing emergency scenarios.
- Communication: Excellent communication abilities for collaborating with on-board personnel, vessel owners, and outside organizations.
- Administrative Competencies: Expertise in managing databases, utilizing scheduling applications, and operating Microsoft Office Suite
