Job Description

ain Accountabilities

  • Responsible for crewing operation of sea staff for the organization in Singapore;
  • Designs operational procedures that meet crew experience matrix set by the team within given timelines;
  • Manages 3rd party crew managers and ensure that sea staff who are sent onboard meets expectation;
  • Manages budget and ensure that crewing operations support the commercial requirement of the organization;
  • Manages sea staff expectations and their interest are being looked after even during difficult times;
  • Adhering to hiring processes which involves screening applicants and ensuring pre-joining briefings are in place;
  • Reporting to Eastaway’s management team on seafarer market condition which should include challenges in crew changes and impact on operating expense.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Number of Seafarer (All ranks) on extended contracts;
  • Retention rate of sea staff;
  • Operating expenses including off-hire requirements;
  • Acumen in assessing seafarer market conditions and sea staff expectation in welfare and benefits. Areas that have direct impact on the company’s bottom line.

Education, Knowledge & Working Experience

Appropriate level of education, knowledge and working experience:

  • Degree or Bachelor in any field;
  • At least 5-8 years of experience in Shipping;
  • At least 4-6 years of experience in crewing related functions.
  • Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software with the ability to learn new or updated software;
  • Strong presentation of documents prepared (eg, formatting).
