Job Description

Responsbilities:

  • To be responsible for managing the seafarer’s payroll for all assigned vessels.
  • To respond promptly to inquiries from seafarers and/or their families regarding salary information and social needs.
  • To ensure accuracy of the bank details entered in the crew payroll system.
  • To ensure seafarers are paid according to their contracts.
  • To ensure timely payment of all balances due to seafarers, such as leave pay, medical leave pay, medical disbursement, and other allowances and overtime payments.
  • To ensure cash advances and other outstanding balances of seafarers are deducted from monthly wages and/or their allotment.
  • To be responsible for entering reimbursements, allowances, and deductions in the system.
  • Check the correctness of the allotment list and process payroll accordingly to ensure timely transfer of allotments to seafarer-designated beneficiaries.
  • Responsible for the timely payment of wages on the approved payroll cycle.
  • Prepare all correspondence to the Account Department, Master, and other relevant parties as deemed necessary.
  • To submit CPF contributions (for Singaporean seamen) promptly.
  • To arrange monthly Cash to Master and liaise with port agents for quotations and arrangements.
  • To ensure timely arrangement of Cash to Master remittance.
  • Conduct month-end closing of ship accounts and monitor the balance of float.
  • Perform month-end closing of vessel victualing accounts.
  • Prepare and present monthly payroll analysis reports, highlighting key trends, discrepancies, and recommendations.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of payroll data and seafarer personal information.
  • Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., Accounting, Operations) and external stakeholders (e.g., port agents, manning agencies) to ensure seamless payroll management.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in payroll management to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Assist in special projects or tasks related to crew welfare, cost management, or other crewing department functions as required by the Manager or management.
  • Any other work required by the Manager and management.

Job Requirement:

  • Minimum Diploma holder with 5 years of related working experience in the marine industry.
  • Good team player and able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Proficient with MS Office applications.
  • Good interpersonal, communication, and computer skills.
