Job Description
Responsibilities
Pre-Contracts
- Support tender and bid preparation, including commercial reviews and clarifications
- Review contract terms and conditions, identifying commercial and contractual risks, particularly those that could lead to claims or disputes
- Assist in pricing, cost estimates, and commercial submissions
- Liaise with internal stakeholders (engineering, procurement, project teams) during tender stage
Post-Contracts
- Administer contracts throughout the project lifecycle, with focus on dispute and claims management
- Identify, prepare, and manage contractual claims related to variations, additional works, delays, disruption, and acceleration
- Ensure timely submission of notices and claims in accordance with contract terms
- Evaluate and respond to claims from clients, subcontractors, and vendors
- Support commercial negotiations to achieve fair and amicable settlements
- Monitor project costs, payments, and invoicing in line with contract terms
- Prepare and review progress claims, final accounts, and commercial reports
- Assist in formal dispute resolution processes, including mediation, adjudication, or arbitration
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Business, Maritime Studies, or related discipline
- 3–8 years of relevant commercial or contracts management experience in a shipyard, marine, offshore, or EPC environment
- Familiarity with shipbuilding / ship repair contracts and subcontract management
- Good understanding of contract terms, variations, claims, and cost control
- Experience with standard contract forms is an advantage
- Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Able to work independently and manage multiple projects
