Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute chartering strategies for stainless steel and chemical tanker vessels in line with market conditions and company objectives.
  • Secure employment for vessels through spot, contract, and time charter opportunities while maximizing fleet utilisation and profitability.
  • Monitor global tanker markets, trade flows, cargo movements, and freight trends to identify potential business opportunities.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with charterers, brokers, traders, and other key stakeholders within the chemical tanker market.
  • Negotiate charter party terms and commercial agreements to ensure optimal outcomes for the company.
  • Collaborate closely with operations, technical, and post-fixture teams to ensure smooth execution of fixtures.
  • Review voyage performance and provide insights on market positioning and commercial strategy.
  • Support senior management with market intelligence, reporting, and strategic recommendations.
  • Participate in industry meetings, conferences, and networking opportunities to expand the company’s commercial reach.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5–10 years of experience within tanker chartering, with exposure to chemical and/or stainless steel tanker markets.
  • Strong understanding of tanker chartering practices including voyage chartering, time chartering, and contract of affreightment (COA).
  • Proven ability to develop cargo relationships and negotiate charter party agreements.
  • Good knowledge of global chemical trades, cargo flows, and regional market dynamics.
  • Commercially driven with strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and highly competitive trading environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Shipping Management, Business, or a related discipline is preferred.
