Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Chartering: Negotiate charter agreements and fixing freight and time charter vessels. Assist with vessel nominations, ensure required documentation is in order, and push for timely acceptance.
  • Running freight calculations: Calculating freight rates and advising the traders of current and forward freight levels.
  • FFA: Assisting in trading FFA’s both from a book management level and an outright position level.
  • Risk Assessment: Assess counterparty risk levels through background checks of head owners, disponent owners, and charterers involved in negotiations, gaining management approval for any new clients.
  • Compliance and Relationships: Ensure compliance with all operational regulations and foster strong relationships with ship owners, shipbrokers, and shipping agents.

What You’ll Bring to the Role

  • 3 years of experience in managing various aspects of commercial shipping, including chartering ,operations and ship broking.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Business, or a related discipline.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in Excel.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, self-motivated, and a strong team player with a collaborative yet competitive mindset.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to perform well under pressure and adapt to fast-paced environments.
