Job Description

Main Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily desk operations, ensuring smooth coordination and execution.
  • Coordinate all operational aspects of physical trading books, ensuring seamless and cost-effective implementation of trades according to contractual terms.
  • Assess operational and business risks, proactively minimizing any potential obstacles to the Company/Group’s success or growth, and escalate critical issues as needed.
  • Provide regular reports on operational processes to Team lead as part of core activities.
  • Enhance trader strategies by leveraging knowledge of product movement and external relationships, while effectively addressing delivery and supply dynamics and promptly resolving any transportation issues.
  • Review product movement reconciliations and develop proficiency in facilitating Loss Control investigations.
  • Develop the capability to assess risks (technical, contractual, and operational) associated with non-standard contracts, as well as new regions and long-term tenders.
  • Undertake additional tasks assigned by the Team Leader as required.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on experience in vessel and cargo operations (preferably Petrochemical) involving interactions with ports/terminals, agents, cargo inspectors, vetting, chartering, and ship shore compatibility.
  • Being detail-oriented and having an analytical mindset.
  • Proficient in both written and verbal English and Mandarin languages, enabling effective communication with counterparties.
  • Demonstration of a strong desire and eagerness to acquire new knowledge and skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, capable of time management, and the ability to adapt and react to dynamic and changing circumstances.
  • Should possess strong teamwork skills and be able to effectively collaborate with others.
