Job Description
• Support the Technical Superintendent in the daily technical oversight of designated vessels.
• Oversee ship performance, upkeep timelines, and adherence to class and legal regulations.
• Collaborate with ship personnel and outside contractors for maintenance, dry docks, and technical assistance.
• Examine technical reports, lists of defects, and maintenance logs from ships.
• Confirm that the planned maintenance system (PMS) is effectively executed and revised onboard.
• Assist in budget development and track ship operating costs.
• Coordinate with classification societies, flag states, and port authorities as necessary.
• Support in acquiring spare parts, inventory, and technical services.
• Engage in inspections of vessels, audits, and investigations into incidents.
• Ensure precise documentation and technical records for designated vessels.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering or a similar area of study
• Experience in sailing as a Marine Engineer (ideally 2nd Engineer or above) or pertinent experience onshore.
• Fundamental understanding of vessel management processes and maritime legislation (IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL)
• Knowledge of scheduled maintenance systems and technical documentation
• Effective organizational and analytical skills
• Capacity to collaborate successfully within a team and engage with diverse groups.
• Skillfulness in Microsoft Office software
• Readiness to travel for ship visits, inspections, and dry dock maintenance.
• Keen focus on specifics and capacity to manage several responsibilities
