We are seeking a skilled and motivated Assistant Project Engineer to specialize in ship repair and ship refit projects. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of relevant experience in the maritime industry and possess strong project management and technical skills. This role involves managing repair and refit projects from initiation to completion, ensuring compliance with technical, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Job Description

  1. Project Management:
  • Provide support to the Project Engineer for ship repair and ship refit projects, from planning through execution and delivery.
  • Assist in developing detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Coordinate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure project objectives are met.
  1. Technical Expertise:
  • Oversee progress and technical requirements for repair and refit projects.
  • Interpret technical drawings, design documents, and specifications.
  • Provide guidance and suggestion to production teams during execution.
  1. Quality Assurance:
  • Ensure all ship repair and refit work adheres to established quality standards.
  • Conduct inspections to verify compliance with design specifications and classification requirements.
  • Address quality issues promptly with effective corrective actions.
  1. Regulatory Compliance:
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant maritime regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with regulatory bodies to secure necessary approvals and certifications.
  1. Communication and Coordination:
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Provide regular project updates and reports to management and clients.

Qualifications:

  • of Diploma in marine engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in ship repair or refit project engineering.
  • Strong understanding of ship repair processes, techniques, and materials.
  • Proficient in project management with a proven ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and team collaboration skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
