Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the procurement of technical stores, spare parts, equipment, and services for vessels and shore-based operations.
  • Source, evaluate and negotiate with suppliers to achieve competitive pricing, quality, and delivery timelines.
  • Issue purchase orders and monitor the procurement cycle from requisition through delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and service providers.
  • Coordinate closely with vessel management, technical teams, and operations to ensure procurement requirements are fulfilled efficiently.
  • Monitor inventory levels and recommend appropriate stock replenishment strategies.
  • Review supplier performance and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Support technical managers in planning maintenance schedules, repairs, dry-docking activities, and equipment servicing.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Prepare procurement reports, cost analyses, and purchasing metrics for management review.
  • Assist in managing technical documentation, certificates, and equipment records where required.
  • Stay updated on market trends, supplier developments, and new products relevant to the maritime industry.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in technical purchasing, marine procurement, or technical management within the maritime or shipping industry.
  • Strong knowledge of marine spare parts, technical equipment, and vessel maintenance requirements.
  • Experience negotiating with international suppliers and managing vendor relationships.
  • Familiarity with procurement systems and ERP software.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Able to work independently while effectively managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
